Thanks. It feels to me that he is simply promoting HIS OWN career. How does the struggle against the dictatorship in Eritrea benefit from this? He could say he will have more lobbying power but seriously, no sane person can buy that (empty) argument. I hope Assenna is not using the public (fundraiser) money to cover the airtime costs associated with this personal matter! He is highly opportunistic!
This souds like soke personal vandeta. Meron is well known personalirlty and formidable figure in the resistance circle. He is an outspoken leader against dictatorship and that alone should merit our support. Even if, he is doing it in “promoting his own career”, shouldn’t we assisting Eritreans every where succed in everything they do.
Meron is running is Oakland, a city where many Eritrean call home and until now, they have been very much under represented in the city politics and their interests has very much been ignored. His election will very much promote Eritreans interest.
GO Meron, we will support you in whatever way we can.
Thank you assennatv for promoting Meron

I agree with thecomment by Zersenay Andegiorgis……….
Let me add my commentary
1st. The successful liberation struggle of Eritrea was, and still is, highjacked by an indigenous dictator.
2nd. It is therefore considered absolutely essential and urgent that the indigenous dictator be removed from the post of presidency
3rd. It is also absolutely essential that Eritreans, once again, be of one mind and spirit to once gain liberate Eritrea — this time from an indigenous self-made president and absolute dictator.
4th. Eritreans who are lucky enough to live abroad in tranquility must get together — in one mind and one objective — to liberate Eritrea from one indigenous dictator.
5th. Eritreans must agree that having 80 to 90 groups working separately is tantamount of keeping Eritrea under the dictator
6th. Eritreans must therefore accept the cohesiveness of all groups into one “liberation” group in tandem with the fact that there is only ONE Eritrea; hence ONE group to ‘liberate’ Eritrea from ONE self-annointed president.
7th. Eritreans must therefore come to the conclusion that there can be ONE, and only one, liberation front to dislodge one indigenous dictator.
8th. Less than the above is tantamount to believing that Eritrea was NEVER meant to be an INDEPENDENT, FREE, DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY.
9th. It is a sad conclusion that those gallant heroic Eritreans, admired by ALL around the Globe, who sacrificed their precious gift of Life comes to a knot as an example of CLASSICAL TRAGEDY.
10th. What is really coming is the possibility that other countries may very well take advantage of the situation — I leave it to your critical imagination and observation.
THE END
