It is a living and breathing document refers it Dr. Amanuel, it is not the Arc of the covenant, the constitution is the people I mean all the people, their voice, their needs, their aspirations… which changes as they grow and prosper from it, it is not a rigid set of rules and regulations which applies from gen. baby boomers to gen. z’s arbitrarily>>>>>> and definitely it is not something you cram down people’s throat while they have no apatite for it or something you toss in the garbage because it doesn’t taste good. This great discussion aired here by these two seasoned brothers is not only an alternate view, it is the right view!! Keep up the good work and my immense gratitude to those who are presenting this content of profound quality.
I say not! These very two people were, I could bet on it, part of the same blind followers at one time with the draft in the making. Sure both have a views that could be worked out down the road but these two people are also presenting themselves as if both got the invitation to the dance pretty late. One said let us make use of it and the other let us sort of saying bring all the 5 million ( is it still 5 million or less by the way) and draft it again. The draft was not done in secrete place as such that no one knew it was being drafted. It was actually, if I am not mistaken, publicized. Many did not care and were more in to embracing it than anything. So that is where we find us all now.
Let us all take ownership.Eritreans are all (opposing it now) to be blamed. Some said it was going to be “The document” others “Did not care” few others “Had given up their hope of Eritrea” and plenty others “Could not understand the meaning of a draft” let alone a constitution. Still many have no clue of it and never read it.
By the way: Should we not all be working towards a change rather?
Why is this “draft” a talking points frequently? Did Dr Bereket spew something for a reason? Or is it rather Mr Isayas is about to check out or something? Or is it a monkey see monkey do sort of stuff……as always
We need people who have impartial mind and impartial views to take up on the draft again.
We need people who need to work for a change and bring Eritrea back in to the world stage.
Mike
“We need people who have impartial mind and impartial views to take up on the draft again.
We need people who need to work for a change and bring Eritrea back in to the world stage.”
Well, I get your point and I understand there are views here that seems to still have the war of words and the fronts who fought for liberation. I understand the invested time and soul to free Eritrea. I see both fronts as part and parcel of bringing Eritrea free. If anyone thinks, in my opinion, or still harbors a single fighting front brought free Eritrea is simply living a life of lie. I will live this part to the history makers.
To get back to your point though – to bring bout a new “draft” a nation needs a peaceful space; to bring a family unit to function the unit needs to first stay and be healthy and strong; to listen to a source of a voice of interest in a chaotic place that person or persons need the pandemonium to settle down. This is the time to work for a change and create a space so there is calmness to bring a moment to re-do a new draft. Changing the source of this pandemonium we are seeing in Eritrea should be first and critical now first. But then I am also getting tired of this continuous bickering of Eritreans day in and day out about yesterday and…. Do people not get tired of this sort of life? I guarantee you many of these do-no-good cyber warriors have nothing else to do but just talk about yesterday. Living on yesterday’s pride is always the worst thing a human could do.
Peace to all
Here are two good Eritreans exchanging a prudent wise conversation….the way it suppose to be yesterday, today and going forward, it is the precursor for constructing a solid viable and living constitution, a calm human soul at its best communicating its vision , aspirations and workable solutions… not a project assigned by the enemy of the people under a volatile and vitriolic atmosphere with ulterior motives, that is why he pronounced it dead and buried, what were the scholars thinking when they took up this project? it was one of the opportunities lost to stand up and rally all the people then and expose, strip him naked the well fed and dressed Casanova and parade him in public, instead dismayed by his decision they left town leaving the poor people at his mercy for 30 years and counting. This is not time for sugar coating and taking credit for nothing because nothing is what we have, we need to own it, fix it, apologize to our people from the heart and guarantee them this time around they matter— all of them.
This is not time for sugar coating and taking credit for nothing because nothing is what we have, we need to own it, fix it, apologize to our people from the heart and guarantee them this time around they matter— all of them.
I think we are all speaking that we need a change which is good. Let us put that now to rest that change is needed. I am just coming in to the stage and as much as I am also for change but I am not for grinding the same talking points over and over again. What is needed now us for everyone to come to terms and when gathered in every country and states to become a building force and not a destructive force. I have yet to attend one but I see plenty and I hear plenty and I wonder why Eritreans spend lots of time in pivoting at every junction. This change does need boldness and passion based on facts, reality, and achievable steps. Again, next time you are all meeting be a person who would move the day forward and not a session of wasteful elements. Remember that someone once said – either eliminate your enemy or make him/her your friend.
To do the draft Eritrea needs a nation. A free nation from a dictator that is and people that must be part of the making. If we think we do not have a free nation yet then it would be hard to re-do the draft. It is just a fact. Instead we could all come together and work to bring a force to change. I have a feeling many of you here have achieved plenty in life. It is easy to read through the lines. But it also amazes me that many of you struggle leading a Eritrean gathering sessions. Most of the meetings I have seen end up being a sort of friction filled. For instance, most of the time that I observe, one is adding “stuff” the other one is adding again another “stuff” and then another one gets up and points a finger to another person who is not even in the meeting….and few others show up late and start taking the whole session back to the start…etc. Avoid your preconceived and biases when you intend to hold sessions and get to the actions. It is also a precious time that each one of you are giving. Well, it is good that everyone wants to change. That is a good start. Now leave the draft on hold for now and focus on the changing winds.
Mike
Lets model these 2 great Eritreans and many like them in the way we interact with each other….it doesn’t only fill my heart with hope but it is also the beginning of the end of our tribulations. Bless you brothers and those who continue to give us this platform.
Meeting Eritreans on one-on-one is always beautiful. As beautiful as the culture is. Where when one pays a visit to every home in Eritrea or outside Eritrea, food and drinks and many other things are shared and served. Even better, in restaurants or coffee shops, Eritreans jump over anyone to make sure they pay for your portion. A amazing sharing spirit. Then a moment comes where things need to be done and a few are gathered together to talk about a nation. Well, the cracks start to appear. One side is asking where a person is from? The other side is asking where has this person been? Another section is wondering what the meeting is all about. Few more are just there to display yesterday’s glory. The section that never comes to meeting but have a second and third hand information are also working on a different crack.
But we got these two now and t.k and of course another one wedi hager in the same page and should be a good start.
I give it all to those they gave it all to us W.H. I am deeply moved, goney.
