A picture frozen in time, like any other pic dusted from the attic in an old box, it awakens a myriad of emotions which overtakes the viewer and sweeps them to a distant past, the faces innocent and adorable, however elicits an ominous undertone for things to come, this is where the enemy took a foothold and planted the seeds and continued the experiment in a higher form a generation later- SAWA, (institutionalism), a kid that young belongs at home with his/her loving parents who have the legitimate natural custody being molded by the specific set of values of that home, many of the great leaders, innovators, and activists where raised at home whether good or bad, MLK, Mandela, Bitweded… to name few a breed apart, independent thinkers, trailblazers….decades later we are calling upon those kids who were raised and molded by the same hand who is shredding our essence as people, what would be the next call? to the conscripts who were together in 1st zurya, 10th zurya…? can we reflect and learn from the past and look forward to the future, shape and mold a new beginning of independent thinkers who can build a nation which reflects their character and vision instead of ‘class of 1998 sawa’ reunion, can we salvage our nation as a whole and reach out to those who don’t share the same experience like us but have the same stake? can we detox from the enemy’s poison and start drinking from the olive filtered blue spring water? can we go back to what it started it all and recalibrate the way forward? can we just pause and have a whoa! moment before we go to our eternal resting place without facing our demons?>>>>>> your woes is a mirror away looking back at you, don’t look far.
It takes one to know one dear W.H., It is the blind love for my people and the nation I fought for not to mention those I left behind in shallow graves…let me leave you with this granular Eritrean to the core song from the past…FIKRI EWUR AMINE TESAQEKU WAY ANE DIQAS UKA SI’EENE, EWAYZI FIKRI HISUM BIZUH MESARURU KEM QUINAT TEWERWIRU LIBIKA ZE’ELU…… FIKRI FIKRI AYTBELU MEANTAKUM KEYTHARU, FIKRI ZIHAZO SEB YITLQI MENDILU….
